Painting
with Purpose
Inspired by the work of two California-based charities operating in Uganda to support women and orphaned children, Betsy used her passion for painting to raise more than $20,000 to fund micro-business loans. With the idea that each canvas could become a loan to help improve someone’s life circumstances, she created The Uganda Collection—a series of paintings based on the stories of three loan recipients. The collection was auctioned under the banner Canvas for Causes, in partnership with local businesses and community members.
